MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., March 11, 2006 - Springfield College senior All-American Sarah Strout (Boothbay, Maine) recorded an 11th-place performance in the 1,650 freestyle event (17:24.61) as the Pride finished in 25th place out of 53 competing teams at this past weekend's NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by Carleton College.
Emory University compiled a total of 428 team points to capture the NCAA crown, holding off Kenyon College, which finished the three-day meet with 418 total team points. Williams College finished in third place (293), with Amherst College placing fourth (232) and Washington University rounding out the top five with a total of 218 team points. SC finished the championship weekend with a team point total of 37.
In her first NCAA Division III Championship event, freshman Moira Price (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) took home a 14th-place performance in the 200 breaststroke event, finishing in a time of 2:25.21.
