The women were led by sophomore Nikki Hay in the triple jump as she came in fourth overall in an all division competition with a distance of 36’ 8 ½”, a distance that qualified her for the NCAA, ECAC, Open New England, and New England Championships. She also qualified for the ECAC, Open New England, and New England Championships in the 60 meter dash as she ran a time of 8.19.
In the 200 meter dash the women were led by sophomore Karissa Pastyrnak, as she finished 32nd overall with a time of 28.51.
The 400 meter dash had one top ten finisher for the women. Senior Jen McBride finished first for Springfield as she crossed the line with a time of 1:01.30, which also qualified her for the New England Championships.
Senior Alyssa Brigham led the women in the 1 mile run with an eighth place overall finish with a time of 5:19.00, also qualifying her for the New England Championships.
Freshman Lacey Cartier led the women's 800 meter run as she finished seventh overall with a time of 2:24.38, qualifying her along with senior Kristyn Meade who finished with a time of 2:27.35 for the New England Championships.
The qualifying runs were abundant over the weekend as sophomore Amanda DiPaolo qualified for the New England Championships as well with a time of 18:59.02 in the 5000 meter run.
In the 4x400 meter relay the women's team consisting of sophomores Nicole Reynolds and Hay, Cartier, and McBride qualified for the ECAC, Open New England, and New England Championships with a time of 4:11.00.
The championship qualifying performances were topped off by the ladies who competed in the 20-pound weight throw. Junior Kelsey Bishop qualified for the Open New England and the New England Championships with a toss of 47’ 10 ½”. Bishop was matched by junior Sarah Waddington as she qualified for the ECAC and New England Championships with a toss of 43’ 1 ½”.
