Men 2nd, Women 3rd at the ECAC Division III Track and Field Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 18, 2007) – The Springfield College men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams did themselves proud at the ECAC Division III Championships at Oneonta, N.Y. this past Thursday and Friday (May 17-18).

As a team, the men finished second of 44 scoring teams and the women finished third of 43 scoring teams. The men scored 84 points, just 10 points behind winning Cortland State’s 94. The SC women scored 48 points, behind only Cortland State with 92 and RIT with 67.50.

Head Coach Ken Klatka

Ken Klatka Ken Klatka, an associate professor of physical education at Springfield College, will enter his 38th season as head coach, and 44th as a coach overall, of the men’s track and field program in 2013-2014. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 447 wins, 156 losses, and two ties for an impressive .743 winning percentage.
