Birdsall Paces the Pride at UAlbany Invitational

Albany, N.Y. – October 18, 2008 – Freshman David Birdsall (Madison, Conn.) led the way for Springfield College finishing in 26:22 for 56th place at the 42nd Annual University at Albany Cross Country Invitational. As a team, the Pride finished in 17th out of 22 teams from Divisions I, II, and III.

A span of 15 seconds separated the next top finishers for the Pride, as sophomore Kyle Moriarty (North Kingston, R.I.) finished in 26:39 for 74th overall, while classmate Ben Lasky (Ludlow, Mass.) crossed the line in 26:49, with senior TJ Potenza (Cranston, R.I.) coming in at 26:54. Sophomore Troy French (Antrim, N.H.) also scored for Springfield as he finished the 8,000 meter course in 27:22.

Springfield next competes on Saturday, November 1st at the NEWMAC Championships at MIT.
