Thompson Earns NEWMAC Diver of the Week Honors

Thompson Earns NEWMAC Diver of the Week Honors Wellesley, Mass. - November 15, 2011 - Springfield College sophomore Jennifer Thompson was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Diver of the Week after an impressive showing in the Pride's dual meet win over Smith on Saturday.

Thompson, a product of Cheshire, Conn. finished first in the 1-meter dive with a point total of 251.15, and also won the 3-meter dive with a score of 273.20. With her score on the three-meter, Thompson qualified for the nationals in that event. Last season at the NCAA Championships, Thompson finished fourth in the country on the three-meter board.
