Clark Holds Off Baseball, 9-8
, April 2, 2004 -- Springfield College junior designated hitter Mike Judge (Chatham, N.J.)
went 3-for-4 with two doubles and pair of runs batted in, but Clark capitalized on two three-run home runs to defeat the Pride, 9-8, this afternoon in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) baseball game at Berry-Allen Field.
Clark (8-7, 2-2 NEWMAC) jumped on the board early thanks to junior third baseman Todd Mathewson, who hit a three-run home run in the top of the first inning. Senior Mike Burnham first baseman also contributed a three-run home run in the fifth inning, and went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Clark junior right-hander Eamonn McDonough pitched 2.2 scoreless innings in relief for the Cougars to pick up his second win.
