Collins Earns NEWMAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week Honors

Collins Earns NEWMAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week Honors Springfield, Mass. - October 25, 2010 - Senior Brittany Collins was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week after guiding the Pride to a pair of critical conference wins last week.

On Tuesday, Collins scored the lone goal of the game in the 63rd minute to lift Springfield past Clark, 1-0. On Saturday, after a scoreless first half, Collins headed in a free kick in the 61st minute for what would prove to be the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Babson.

Collins leads Springfield with seven goals and 15 points this year.

Springfield controls its own destiny as it looks to win the regular season conference title and serve as host for the NEWMAC Tournament. If Springfield is able to defeated Mount Holyoke next Friday evening, it will earn the top seed in the postseason conference tournament.
