Marisa Clapp Finishes First in UMass-Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass., September 21, 2002-Springfield junior Marisa Clapp (Charlton, Mass.) took first place in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Clapp finished at 17:20, which is 80 seconds better than the last time she ran the invitational in 2000. She did not run last year due to heat exhaustion.

The Pride placed 10th in the 15-team field with 229 points. Trinity won the event with 88 points.

SC freshman Megan Young (Hurley, N.Y.) finished 28th overall with a time of 19:07. Sophomore Jennifer Saucier (Derry, N.H.)was 52nd (19:36), and senior Kelly Henry (Whitinsville, Mass.) had a time of 19:47 for a 66th-place finish.
