Field Hockey Squad Earns 2008 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award Springfield, Mass. - March 11, 2009 - The Springfield College field hockey team was recently recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for their efforts in the classroom. Springfield earned a grade point average as a team above a 3.0 and was awarded the NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.

Springfield also experienced a great deal of success on the field as well this year as it captured its fifth-straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth-consecutive season. SC was led by 2008 Dita/NFHCA New England East Region Coach of the Year Melissa Rogers and All-America Second Team selection Jane Kelleher.
