Eaton Named Preseason Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Magazine

Eaton Named Preseason Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Magazine Springfield, Mass. - December 20, 2010 - Senior Mark Eaton was selected as an Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Magazine preseason honorable mention All-American. Heading into his final season in Maroon and White, Eaton had a standout season a year ago in which he took home United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-America honors.

Eaton enjoyed a breakout junior season season under head coach Keith Bugbee as the Pride went 13-6, the third-highest win total in program history. For the third-straight season, Springfield won the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Championship and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Eaton was tremendous for Springfield in his junior season as he was named the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Year. In his first season as Springfield's primary face-off man, the Westford, Mass. native finished 24th in the country in both ground balls per game (7.0) and face-off percentage (61.3%). For the season, Eaton picked up 133 ground balls and went 200-for-326 from the "X", while adding four goals and an assist.

Springfield opens up its 2011 campaign on Wednesday, February 23 when it travels to take on Gordon. First whistle is slated for 4:00 pm.
