Women's Indoor Track & Field 21st in Latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Poll

Nikki Hay Springfield, Mass. -- February 10, 2010 -- The Springfield College women's indoor track & field team is currently ranked 21st nationally in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division III poll, released earlier this afternoon.

Springfield has been credited with 35.51 points in this poll.

This season, Nikki Hay has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 55 meter dash, the long jump, and triple jump, while Fatima Rose has provisionally qualified in the weight throw.

The top 10 is as follows: IIlinois Wesleyan (173.05 points), Wartburg (126.09), UW Oshkosh (98.35), MIT (92.28), Ithaca (83.37), UW Lacrosse (83.29), TCNJ (74.91), Chicago (71.44), Messiah (71.12), and Keene State (63.27).

Others from New England include 13th-ranked Williams (52.65), 14th-ranked Brandeis (48.72), 16th-ranked Bates (41.22), and 22nd-ranked Tufts (34.04).

Up next for Jim Pennington's troops, the Springfield women will compete at MIT on Saturday, February 13.
