Women's Cross Country Finishes Ninth At Southern Maine Invitational
October 18, 2003 - Springfield College sophomore Meghan Young (Hurley, N.Y.)
finished a team-best 16th overall (23:39) as the Pride ran to a ninth-place finish out of 13 teams at the Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday.
SC sophomore Emily Michaud (Caribou, Maine)
finished with an overall time of 24:32, good for 27th place.
Trinity College won the meet with an score of 21 points.
On the men's side, SC junior Patrick Derocco (Utica, N.Y.)
finished with a time of 28:35 to lead the Pride to 10th overall out of 13 teams. Senior Brian Pearsall (Fairport, N.Y.)
placed 58th with a time of 28:47.
Next up for both teams is the NEWMAC Cross-Country Championships at Clark on Sat., November 1.

Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
