Eaton and Macchi Selected As 2010 USILA Honorable Mention All Americans Springfield, Mass. - May 25, 2010 - The Springfield College men's lacrosse team had a pair of student-athletes named as United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-Americans as Mark Eaton and Joe Macchi were recognized for standout seasons.

This marks the first time since 2004 that the Pride has had multiple All-American selections. That season, both Taylor Brown and Paul Purdy were honorable mention selections.

Macchi and Eaton both experienced breakout seasons under head coach Keith Bugbee as the Pride went 13-6, the third-highest win total in program history. For the third-straight season, Springfield won the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Championship and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

In his final season at Springfield, Macchi was a force on the Pride's first midfield line. The Mahopac, N.Y. product scored a team-best 31 goals this season and finished the season with 40 points, which ranked second on the team. A NEILA Division III All-New England Second Team honoree and Pilgrim League All-Conference First Team selection, Macchi had a knack for the clutch as he scored five game-winning goals for SC this season. For his career, he Macchi finished with 68 goals and 87 total points.

Eaton was tremendous for Springfield in his junior season as he was named the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Year. In his first season as Springfield's primary face-off man, the Westford, Mass. native finished 24th in the country in both ground balls per game (7.0) and face-off percentage (61.3%). For the season, Eaton picked up 133 ground balls and went 200-for-326 from the "X", while adding four goals and an assist.
