Men's Track & Field Finishes 20th At NCAAs
March 13, 2004 – Springfield College senior Pawel Jaroszewicz (East Longmeadow, Mass.)
placed third in the 400-meter dash (48.33) to earn All-America honors as the Pride finished in a tie for 20th out of 55 scoring teams at the NCAA Division III Championships held at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday.
SC’s 4x400 meter relay team, consisting of freshman Dave Forrette (Chicopee, Mass.)
, senior Art Fredericks (Wallingford, Conn.)
, sophomore Billy King (Wilmington, Mass.)
, and Jaroszewicz, finished sixth in a time of 3:20.40. All four runners were named All-Americans.
In the field events, it was junior Justin Welch (Woburn, Mass.)
who took eighth place in the high jump (6 feet, 6 inches) to earn his first All-America award.

at Springfield College, will enter his 38th season as head
coach, and 44th as a coach overall, of the men’s track and field program in 2013-2014. He ranks
among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an
overall record of 447 wins, 156 losses, and two ties for
an impressive .743 winning percentage. In 2011, Klatka was inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame.
