WPI Engineers 2-1 Win Over Men's Soccer
, Oct. 18, 2003 - Springfield College senior back David LaBrie (East Longmeadow, Mass.)
headed home his second goal of the season, but it wasn’t enough, as the Pride fell, 2-1, at WPI in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Saturday at Alumni Field.
LaBrie's goal, which came off a feed from senior forward Ryan Lavner (Shrewsbury, Mass.)
, came with just five minutes remaining in the first half giving the Pride a 1-0 lead. WPI responded in the second half when senior forward James Jenkins (Sutton, Mass.)
and junior forward James Norton (Mancester, Conn.)
scored 34 second apart in the second half to give the Engineers a 2-1 lead.
Junior goalkeeper Tom Bowden (Haverhill, Pa.)
made six saves in the game.
The Pride fall to 2-8-3 (0-2-2 NEWMAC) while the Engineers improve to 9-2-0 (2-2-0 NEWMAC).
