Men's Soccer Falls To Wheaton, 2-1
, Nov. 1, 2003 – Sophomore back James Greenslit
scored twice including the game winner in overtime as Wheaton College defeated Springfield College, 2-1, in a New England Women’s And Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match this morning at Brock-Affleck Field.
Greenslit struck first in the 76th minute when his shot crept into the right corner of the net. In the 95th minute, junior back Barry Finnerty
delivered a cross and Greenslit knocked the ball in for the game winner.
Sophomore back Justin Pepoli (Ashburnham, Mass.)
scored the only goal for the Pride when he hit a cross that found its way into the net.
Junior goalkeeper Tom Bowden (Havertown, Pa.)
kept SC in the match early with seven first half saves.
The Pride finishes the regular season with a record of 4-10-3 (1-3-2 NEWMAC) as the Lyons improve their mark to 13-3 (5-1 NEWMAC).
SC’s next match will be Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the first round of the NEWMAC Championship.
