Amendola, Brognano, Hay, and Headley Headed To 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships
Springfield, Mass. - May 18, 2009
- The Springfield College men's track and field team will send four student athletes to the upcoming 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships from May 21-23 at Marietta College. The 4x100 relay team of Matt Amendola
, Tom Brognano
, Nickel Hay
, and Steve Headley
will race, while Headley will also run in the 100 and 200 meter dashes.
The 4x100 relay team qualified with the sixth fastest time in the country, a 41.27, that was reached on May 9th at the New England Championships.
Individually, Headley will also compete in the 100 and 200 meters. The 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor Track Champion in the 55 meter dash, Headley currently has the fastest time in the country in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.39. In the 200 meters, he is one of only three athletes in the country to have automatically qualified for the race. His time of 21.30 is third fastest among 17 entrants in the race.

an impressive .743 winning percentage. In 2011, Klatka was inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame.
