Four Earn NEWISA All-Region Honors, Gibson Tabbed Co-Coach of the Year Springfield, Mass. - December 14, 2010 - Four members of the Springfield College women's soccer team earned All-New England honors from the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA), while John Gibson was honored as the NEWISA Co-Coach of the Year.

Courtney Price and Jackie Moscardelli earned first-team honors, while Gina Calabrese was honored to the second team. Brittany Collins took home honorable mention honors in her final season with the Pride.

These players played a major role in the Pride winning its second NEWMAC Championship in the past three years and its third overall. Springfield rattled off a 15-5 record this year and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in six years.

For Gibson, he was also named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career.

Price once again anchored the Springfield defense, who finished the season with 10 shutouts. A physical defender from Enfield, Conn., Price added a goal and two assists this year as she took home NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honors for the second-consecutive season.

A product of Weymouth, Mass., Moscardelli controlled the Springfield midfield all season as she appeared in 16 games, making 15 starts. She ranked fourth on the team in scoring with four goals and one assist for nine points. A NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team selection, she recorded three game-winning goals this season.

Calabrese has been a rock in the defensive third for the Pride during her career at Springfield. The East Longmeadow, Mass. native started all 20 games this season for a defensive unit that allowed just 13 goals all year. She also tacked on a pair of assists as she was a threat all season to come forward and attack out of the back.

A product of Vernon, Conn., Collins led Springfield in scoring this season as she pumped home nine goals and tacked on an assist for 19 points. Collins, a NEWMAC All-Conference First Team selection recorded three game-winning goals in her senior campaign.

John Gibson John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 14th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2013. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in six of the last eight years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country.
