The national recognition comes after Zirna won the all-around competition in a 400.250 - 397.450 win over host Temple. The sophomore's combined score of 79.700 was good for first in the all-around. He also won the pommel horse with a mark of 14.000.
Zirna's performance helped lead Springfield to its highest team score of the season.
Up next for the Springfield will be Sunday, Feb. 9 when the Pride host William & Mary at 1:00 p.m. in Blake Arena.
