Women's Track & Field Finishes Fifth At Home Meet

Springfield, Mass. --January 31, 2014-- The Springfield College women’s track and field team finished fifth out of ten teams at the Springfield College Field House Saturday afternoon.

The final team scoring was as follows – Williams 195, Amherst 104, Wheaton 79.50, Trinity 75, Springfield 73, American International 60, Worcester State 50, UMass Dartmouth 41, Eastern Connecticut 29.50, Mount Saint Mary 24.

Gabriella Gaudreault (Leominster, Mass.), had Springfield’s lone win on the day. Gaudreault took the 400 meter dash with a winning time of 58.02.

Amanda Martin (Bristol, Conn) was runner up in the triple jump with a leap of 36-5.5. In the long jump, Martin took third with a mark of 17-6.75.

In the 600 meter dash, Samantha Pomroy (Lebanon, Maine) placed third with a time of 1:42.17.

The Pride closed out the meet with a second placed finish in the 4x200 relay. The team of Gaudreault, Darian Daily (East Providence, R.I.), Colleen Rice (Queensbury, N.Y.), and Elizabeth Saia (Wallingford, Conn.) ran a combined time of 1:49.11.
