No. 12 Amherst Edges Women's Soccer, 1-0
Sept 23, 2004 – Amherst College sophomore midfielder Lesley Pruzansky scored the lone goal of the match to propel the 12th-ranked Jeffs to a 1-0 victory over Springfield College in a non-conference match this afternoon on Brock-Affleck Field.
The Lord Jeffs improved to 5-0, while the Pride dropped to 2-3-1.
SC junior keeper Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.)
was spectacular in the loss, recording nine saves. Amherst junior keeper Emily Durwood was equally impressive, making three saves to record the shutout.
The teams battled to a scoreless draw for most of the match. In the 66th minute, Pruzansky floated the ball into the top left hand corner of the net putting the game just out of Davis’ reach.
SC is back in action on Sat., Sept. 25 when it travels to Wheaton College, the defending New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Champion, for a 1:00 p.m. match.
