Three Members of the Women's Basketball Team Earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Honors

Meaghan Macarthur Babson Park, Mass. - March 4, 2009 - Three members of the Springfield College women's basketball team were recently selected to the 2008-09 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday.

For the Pride, NEWMAC Player of the Year Corey Finch was selected, along with sophomores Annie Lasek and Meaghan Macarthur.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2008 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 10 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Naomi Graves Entering her 23rd season as head coach in 2013-14, Naomi Graves has directed her squads to an impressive 323-261 record (.553 winning percentage).
