Beebe Selected To Play in USILA North/South Senior All-Star Game

Jake Beebe Springfield, Mass. - May 19, 2009 - Senior Jake Beebe will represent Springfield College as he was been chosen to play in the annual USILA North/South Senior All-Star Game which will take place on Friday, May 22 at Harvard Stadium.

The games will take place at Harvard this Memorial Day weekend as part of a tripleheader. The Division III game will be played at 2:00 p.m. and the Division I/II game will be played at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Boston Cannons game vs. the Denver Outlaws at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all three games are available by calling the Cannons ticket office at 617-746-9933 or by visiting http://www.bostoncannons.com/tickets/purchasetickets/.

The Division III North Team will be coached by Mark Theriault in his 10th year as head coach of the Keene State men's lacrosse team, and is a three-time LEC Coach of the Year. The Division III South Team will be coached by Tom Leanos, who is in his third decade as the Head Coach of the Drew University's lacrosse program.

The Pilgrim Lacrosse Player of the Year, Beebe turned in one of the most impressive offensive careers in program history. He ended his career ranked in the top seven in the three major offensive categories as he tallied 127 goals (7th most), 126 assists (4th most), and 253 points (4th most) throughout his four years. His senior season was also one of the best single seasons in program history. His 46 assists were the second most for a player in a year, while his 87 points was the fourth-highest total for a player in one season. The highlight of the season came in the NCAA Tournament First Round as Beebe broke an 18-year old NCAA Tournament record for points in a game. In the 21-4 win over Mount Ida, Beebe poured in seven goals and five assists for a record-breaking total of 12 points. The previous mark was held by Rich Franz of Ohio Wesleyan, who tallied 11 points in 1991 for Ohio Wesleyan in a win over Washington & Lee.
