Box score

NEW LONDON, Conn., Oct. 12, 2004 – Springfield College junior back Courtney Goetz (Flemington, N.J.) scored with 2:25 left in regulation as the Pride recorded a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s soccer game.

This was the Pride’s sixth one-goal match of the ’04 season, and its first victory by a goal. Goetz’s goal capped a stunning turn of events for SC, which trailed 1-0 with just over 10 minutes to play. Junior forward Amanda Nealon (East Falmouth, Mass.) tied the match with her fourth goal of the season with 10:11 remaining.

Nealon’s goal erased a 1-0 Coast Guard advantage on Hillary Allegretti’s tally in the 78th minute.

The Pride (4-8-1, 2-3 NEWMAC) outshot Coast Guard (1-11, 0-5 NEWMAC), 17-9.
