Women's Cross Country Finishes 11th at Purple Valley Classic

Williamstown, Mass. - September 28, 2013 - The Springfield College women's cross country team placed 11th out of 13 teams at the Purple Valley Classic on Saturday.

Springfield was led by J'amie Giaccone (Enfield, Conn.) who finished the course in 25:44.3 for 61st overall.

Emily Rund (Enfield, Conn.) finished in 25:47.4 for 63rd overall and sophomore Abby Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.) was 66th in 25:55.3.

Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) (26:26.2) and Samantha Pomroy (Lebanon, Maine) (26:29.7) rounded out the top five for the Pride, placing 71st and 72nd, respectively. The Pride will run at the New England Championships on October 12.
