Box score

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. , Oct. 19, 2004 – Springfield College junior midfielder Sarah Killeen (Meriden, Conn.) scored her first career goal as the Pride and Smith College played to a 1-1 tie in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s soccer match this afternoon on Brock Affleck Field.

The match was called due to darkness and inclimate weather after the first overtime.

For the Pioneers, who are in second place in the NEWMAC with a 4-1-2 mark, junior midfielder Eleanor Loomis scored their only goal. The Pride (3-3-1, 10 points in the NEWMAC), which has two conference game left, moved to within a point of fifth-place Babson, which has 11 points.

Killeen staked the Pride to a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute after collecting a rebound at the top of the goalie box and flipping a shot just under the cross bar. Loomis provided the equalizer in the 45th minute when she scored off a feed from freshman midfielder Lindsey Aldrich.

SC junior keeper Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.) made three saves, while her counterpart, Smith junior Catherine Miller-Little faced just one shot on goal.
