Field Hockey Falls To Keene State, 2-1, In ECAC Final

KEENE, N.H., November 16, 2003 - Springfield College sophomore midfielder Alisha Miner (Sanbornton, N.H.) scored the Pride's lone goal as second-seeded SC fell, 2-1, to top-seeded Keene State College in the championship match of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Field Hockey Tournament this afternoon at the Owl Athletic Complex.

It was first ECAC Championship for the Owls (19-6), who tied a program record for victories with 19 set in 1983. Springfield concludes its season with a 16-10 mark. SC won this tournament in 2001.

Keene State forward and tournament MVP Tanya Strong's (Hatfield, Mass.) got the game-winner for the Owls. It was her 30th goal of the season.

SC junior goalkeeper Lindsay Pardue (Houston, Texas) made 12 saves.
