Women's Cross Country Named USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Team

Women's Cross Country New Orleans, La. - February 17, 2014 - The Springfield College women’s cross country team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as a Division III All-Academic Team on Monday.

Springfield posted a team GPA of 3.45 and was among 215 women’s teams in the country that earned All-Academic Team honors for the 2013 season. In order to qualify for the award, the program must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each.

The Springfield College men’s cross country team was also honored, making the Pride one of 141 programs in the country that had both its women’s and men’s team earn the award. In the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), Springfield was one of eight women’s teams to earn the honor. The conference also had five teams with both the women’s and men’s teams being named All-Academic Teams.
