Keene, N.H. - October 2, 2010 - Led by senior Lacey Cartier, the Springfield College women's cross country team finished third out of nine teams at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
As a team, the Pride totaled 91 points after having three of the top 17 finishers in the race. Dartmouth won the overall race with 21 points, as it had four of the top five racers cross the finish line.
Cartier ran the 5k course in 20:22 as she crossed the finish line in 12th place out of 92 runners. Michelle Mirti was the second-faster runner for the Pride as she finished 17th in 20:44. Freshman Erica Fisher was right behind Mirti as she posted a time of 20:53, good enough for 19th overall.
Springfield's top five runners were rounded out by Sissell Holloway, who finished in 21:19 in 24th place, and 28th-place finisher, Katie Burns, who ran a 21:30.
The Pride are back in action next weekend when it runs in the New England Championships in Franklin Park in Boston.
