Golf Places 15th at Worcester State Invitational

Men's Golf Complete Results

Sutton, Mass. - April 20, 2010 - The Springfield College golf team finished 15th out of 16 teams at the Worcester State Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the par 72 Blackstone National Golf Club.

Trinity College's Dave Anderson captured medalist honors as he fired a 70 (-2) to help lead the Bantams to the championship. Trinity shot a team-best 298, finishing in front of Salem State who shot a 308 followed by Brandeis (320) and WNEC and Elms who tied for fourth with a score of 324. Westfield State and Nichols tied for sixth (327) while the hosting Lancers and Anna Maria were ten strokes behind with a 327 in eighth.

As a team, Springfield totaled 365 shots with four golfers. Pat Marra finished in 48th place as he shot a team-best 88 on the day. Ryne McEvoy was close behind with an 89,tying for 53rd, while teammate Alexander Brown turned in a 90, finishing tied for 58th. Jared Slingerland rounded out Springfield's scores as he totaled 98 strokes, finishing tied for 75th.

Joe Eadie Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional.
