Young Leads Women's Cross Country At Amherst Invitational

AMHERST, Mass., Sept. 11, 2004 - Springfield College junior Meg Young (Hurley, N.Y.) finished third out of 45 runners to lead the Pride to fourth place at the Amherst Invitational, Saturday.

The host Jeffs won the meet with 20 points, followed by Keene State (55), Wheaton (85) and Springfield (87).

Young covered the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19 minutes, 7.90 seconds in her first race this fall.
