Men's Soccer Falls To Babson, 1-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 23, 2005 – Springfield College junior goalkeeper Ryan Driscoll (Wilmington, Del.) tallied five saves but the Pride fell to Babson College, 1-0, in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play Friday night, September 23, in Springfield, Mass.

The Beavers (5-1-2, 1-0) and the Pride (1-6, 0-2) battled throughout the first half before Babson sophomore Justin Unger made it a 1-0 game with 89 seconds to play in the first stanza. SC was very aggressive to the goal in the later stages of the second half, taking seven of its eleven shots within the last twenty minutes of play. In the end, although, it was Unger’s goal that proved to be the difference as the Beavers took a 1-0 victory.

Babson goalkeeper Chris Necklas recorded five saves including two solid saves off Pride sophomore forward Michael Burke (Loudonville, N.Y.).
