Men's Cross Country Finishes 27th at ECAC Division III Championships

Michael Sherry Bristol, R.I. – November 9, 2013 – The Springfield College men’s cross country team raced at the ECAC Division III Championships on Saturday at Colt State Park and took 27th.

The Pride totaled 872 points en route to finishing 27th among the 46 teams in the competition.

Mike Sherry (Loudonville, N.Y.) led the way for the Pride as he ran the 8k course in 28:59 to take 157th. Tyler Leahy (Chicopee, Mass.) was Springfield’s next finisher in 29:13 for 173rd place, and William Beauvais (Ipswich, Mass.) ran a time of 29:25.

Benjamin Malin (Easton, Mass.) posted a time of 29:46, and Austin Ramos (Evans, Ga.) was the Pride's fifth fastest runner after clocking in at 30:10.

Next Saturday, Springfield will run at the NCAA New England Regionals at 12:00 pm.
