Men's Tennis Downs WNEC, 7-2

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., March 30, 2005- Springfield College junior Justin Freitas (East Providence, R.I.) won at #2 singles and #2 doubles to lead the Pride to its first victory of the season, 7-2, over Western New England College.

Freitas defeated WNEC senior David Stelmach (6-2, 6-2), and also teamed up with freshman Joe Lisi (Southbridge, Mass) to win their #2 doubles match, 8-4.

SC senior Rich Aseltine (Tyngsboro, Mass.) was victorious at #1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3.

The Pride improves to 1-1, while the Golden Bears fall to 1-4.
