Men's Soccer Falls At Keene State, 4-2

Boxscore

KEENE, N.H., Sept. 7, 2005 – Springfield College senior back Justin Pepoli (Ashburnham, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Tony Distasio (Burlington, Conn.) each scored for the Pride, but it wasn't enough as SC fell at Keene State College, 4-2, in non-conference action at the Owl Athletic Complex on Wednesday night, September 7th.

With the Pride (0-2) down 4-0 in the second half, SC tried to mount a comeback, firing back with two scores in the second stanza. Pepoli scored the first Pride goal in the 59th minute of play, and Scheer would then score eight minutes later, in the 67th minute of action. It was too little too late for SC, however, as the Owls (3-0) held on for the victory.

Sophomore B.J. Sturdivant (Bear, Del.) had six saves for the Pride, and junior keeper Ryan Driscoll (Wilmington, Del.) stopped two Owl shots on goal. The two keepers each played one half for SC.

The Pride will next host Kings Point this weekend, on Saturday, September 10, in a 12:30 p.m. start.
