Men's Swimming and Diving Tops Wheaton, Falls To Keene State

Springfield, Mass. - November 19, 2011 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team split a tri-meet at home in Art Linkletter Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. The Pride topped Wheaton College, 237-63, before falling to Keene State, 171.50-128.50.

Kenny Pancoast continued to impress on the diving boards as he once again swept the competition. Pancoast won the three-meter with a score of 283.58 , before totaling 260.70 points to win the three-meter. Teammates Jack Lewis (237.50) and Derek Shaver (224.39) placed second and third on the three-meter as well.

Phillip Murphy won the 1,000 free in 10:17.80, while teammate Tim Ramos earned second-place points are racing a time of 10:40.29. Murphy also finished second in the 500 free in 5:01.40.

In the 200 back, Kelly Dullard placed second in 2:03.29, while Josh Ernst also finished runner-up in the 100 back in 55.28. In addition, Nolan Manley touched in 1:46.97 in the 200 free for second place, and Scott Mackstutis finished second in the 100 fly in 55.22.

Springfield closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 free relay as Hayden Cassidy, Jason Scotto, Scott Peters, and Nolan Manley touched in 1:30.11. The Pride's 200 medley team finished second as well on the afternoon as Ernst, Eric Scala, Mackstutis, and Cassidy combined for a time of 1:41.56.
