Ithaca, N.Y. - December 3, 2011 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team finished its second day of the Ithaca Invitational on Saturday evening and maintained its third place standing amongst the nine teams competing.
After two days of competition, Cornell continues to lead the field with 1,510.5 points, outdistancing SUNY Geneso (1,032) and Springfield (825).
Springfield's opened up Saturday's session with a first-place showing in the 200 free relay as Kellie Pennington, Jaclyn Van Waalwijk, Caroline Kosciusko, Kaitlin Reilly swam a 1:36.12.
Pennington also took second in the 100 fly in 57.17, while Kosciusko placed third in the 200 free in 1:56.76. In the 200 fly, Reilly posted a time of 2:12.08 to place fifth.
In the three-meter diving competition, Jennifer Thompson placed third with 412.25 points, while Courtney Keefe placed fifth (397.90), and Paige Rhodes (385.80) earned eighth-place points.
Springfield closed out the day with a second-place finish in the 800 free after Kosciusko, Van Waalwijk, Reilly, and Pennington touched in 7:51.08.
