No. 9 Field Hockey Stumbles At Williams, 3-2
, Oct. 13, 2004 - Springfield College junior midfielder Sarah Brooker (Auburn, Maine)
scored two goals but it was No. 18 Williams College defeating the No. 9 Pride, 3-2, Wednesday, in field hockey action in Williamstown.
Williams (9-1) scored the game's first goal at the 28:51 mark, but two-straight goals by Brooker gave the Pride a 2-1 lead with 11:15 to play in the half. The Ephs would add a goal with 1:08 remaining in the first half to tie the game, 2-2, after the first period.
Senior captain Lindsey Pardue (Houston, Texas)
made seven of her 13 saves in the second half as the two teams seemed headed for overtime, but Williams netted the game-winning tally with 1:07 remaining on the clock to claim the victory.
SC (11-3) travels to Worcester on Saturday (Oct. 16) to take on Clark University in a 1:00 p.m. New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference match with the Cougars.
