Mount Holyoke Defeats Women's Soccer, 3-1
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass.,
October 14, 2003 - Springfield College junior forward Jessica Kovacs (Dalton, Mass.)
scored the lone goal of the match for the Pride, but it wasn't enough as Mount Holyoke defeated Springfield College, 3-1, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer match on Tuesday.
SC sophomore goalkeeper Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.)
saved nine shots during the match.
Mount Holyoke's Sarah Gardner scored on Kate Porter's corner kick in the 76th minute of play to put the game away for the Lyons (4-7-1).
Springfield falls to 5-7-2 on the season, and 2-2-1 in NEWMAC play. The Pride hosts Wellesley on Saturday, October 18, at 1:00 p.m.

John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 14th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2013. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in six of the last eight years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country. His clubs have registered an impressive a 165-75-21 record.
