Young Places 15th at Southern Maine Invitational

CUMBERLAND, Maine, Oct. 16, 2004 – Junior Meg Young (Hurley, N.Y) placed 15th out of 142 runners this past weekend at the University of Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday.

Young completed six-kilometer course at the Twin Brook Recreational Park in 24:02. Springfield College placed eight out of 12 participating teams.

Sophomore Jackie Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) placed second for the Pride and 39th overall by crossing the finish in 25:10. Freshman Alyssa Brigham (Penacook, N.H.) continued to be a major contributor in her first season by finishing in 52nd place (25:38). Junior Jessica Zaccaro (Washingtonville, N.Y.) was eight seconds behind Brigham and finished 55th overall.

Next up for the women’s cross-country team is the NEWMAC Championship meet on October 30.
