Leading the way for Springfield was senior captain Craig DiFranco (East Longmeadow, Mass.), who tied for 21st place. He shot a 78 in the first round and a 76 in the second round, for a total score of 154, which was 12 over par.
Top player for Williams College was Robert Camp, who placed first to lead his team to victory. He shot a 143, just one stroke over par. Collectively, Williams shot a 591. Middlebury College and Manhattanville College tied for second with a score of 611 strokes apiece.
The four other competitors for Springfield were sophomore Kyle DiFranco (167) of East Longmeadow, Mass. (Craig’s brother), who tied for 66th; junior Alex Brown (173) of Portland, Maine, who placed 80th; sophomore Ryne McEvoy (174) of Accord, N.Y., who tied for 81st; and freshman Mike Nowakowski (176) of East Hampton, Conn., who finished tied for 84th.
This upcoming weekend, the Pride will compete in the ECAC Championships in Stow Mass.
