Field Hockey To Host Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Saturday

Field Hockey Breast Cancer Awareness SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- October 15, 2008 – The Springfield College field hockey team will be hosting Wellesley in a crucial conference contest on Saturday morning, but will have its eye on raising awareness towards breast cancer.

The Pride will take on Wellesley in what will prove to be a game with playoff implications on the line. With game time set for 11:00 am on Stagg Field, the two lone undefeated schools in conference play will battle for first place in the league.

Springfield College plans to raise breast cancer awareness in the following way:
* the Springfield College women’s volleyball team will be wearing pink T-shirts during warm-ups
* pink t-shirts will be sold to anyone who would like to benefit breast cancer research
* pink ribbons will be handed out to all fans
* Saturday's game ball will be pink
* the arena will be decorated with signs and pink balloons
* the game program will be pink
Springfield College is requesting fans wear pink apparel to these contests.
