Men's Tennis Opens Spring Break With 7-2 Win Over St. Louis College of Pharmacy

Hilton Head, S.C. - March 16, 2014 - The Springfield College men's tennis team began the spring portion of its season with a 7-2 win against the St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Sunday afternoon in the opening match of its Spring Break trip.

The Pride swept the doubles competition, with Joe Giannelli (Watertown, Conn.) and Tanner DeVarennes (Lee, Mass.) posting an 8-0 win at No. 1.

In singles play, Justin Danielewicz (Portland, Conn.) put together an impressive showing at No. 2, registering a 6-0, 6-0 win. At No. 2, Kyle Beynor (Prospect, Conn.) also had a solid outing, winning by a 6-1, 6-0 count.

Springfield will hit the courts again on Tuesday when it plays Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
