Williamstown, Mass. - November 7, 2009 - The Springfield College women's cross country team competed in the ECAC Championships at Saturday and fared well finishing sixth out of 39 teams.
Junior Lacey Cartier raced across the finish line in 23:51.3, good enough for ninth place overall in the race. Johanna Spangler of Vassar won the race in a time of 22:51.6, and Middlebury took home the team title with 37 points.
The Pride had three runners finish in the top 35. In addition to Cartier, sophomore Michelle Mirti finished in 30th with a time of 25:15.6, and classmate Caitlyn Crosby crossed the finish line in 25:20.7 to finish in 33rd.
Also scoring points for Springfield were sophomore Lindsey Eby finishing in 25:50.6 (60th), and sophomore Alex Mustardo who finished with a time of 26:08.5 (69th).
Up next for the Pride are the NCAA Division III New England regionals being held in Portland, Maine next Saturday, November 14.
