Cartier Leads Women's Cross Country to 12th Place Finish at ECAC's

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - November 3, 2007 - Paced behind several outstanding performances, the Springfield College women's cross country team finished 12th out of 31 teams at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships held at Mt. Greylock High School on Saturday. Four out of the top five finishers for Springfield were freshmen.

Freshman Lacey Cartier (York, Maine) led the charge for the Pride as she earned All-ECAC honors with a 13th-place finish out of 242 runners. Cartier finished the 6,000-meter course in a time of 23:35.1. Right behind Cartier was teammate Amanda DiPaolo (Garrison, N.Y.) in 19th place with a time of 23:52.9.

Amanda Mullen (Claremont, N.H.) finished in a time of 25:47.0, while Kelly Murray (Cohoes, N.Y.) finished in 26:45.4. Rachel Dimattia (Kensington, Conn.) closed out the scoring for the Pride as she finished in 27:03.2.

The Pride return to action on Saturday, November 10, at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals in Waterford, Conn..
