Women’s Soccer Rolls Past Wesleyan University, 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct. 03, 2002 – Springfield College sophomore forward Jessica Kovacs (Dalton, Mass.) scored in the third minute of play to lead the Pride to a 2-0 victory over Wesleyan University this afternoon at Brock-Affleck Field.

SC junior midfielder Laura Harwood (Longmeadow, Mass.) iced the game with her first goal of the season in the 55th minute. Springfield goalkeeper Christine McCarey (Middleboro, Mass.) was forced to make only four saves on the afternoon.

Springfield College moves to 3-6 on the season. Wesleyan falls to 1-5-1 this fall.

The Pride returns to action on Saturday, October 5, when it visits MIT in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference game at 12:00 p.m.
