Coast Guard/MIT Results

Springfield, Mass. -- January 17, 2010 -- The Springfield College men's swimming & diving team had some ups and downs during a long weekend of performing in two separate states against some formidable competition. The men first defeated NYU in New York City, 167-33, on Saturday afternoon. But just 24 hours later back at the Art Linkletter Natatorium, the SC men fell to defeat twice against NEWMAC league opponents-- to MIT, 215-85, and then to Coast Guard, 209-91.

On the one-meter board, Sobel took home first after scoring 285.75 points.

Against conference-rivals Coast Guard and MIT, the Pride dominated the diving competition as it took the top four spots on both boards with Sobel leading the way. On the one-meter, Sobel placed first with a 318.45, followed by Fitzgerald (289.55), Kenny Pancoast, (236.75), and Derek Shaver (207.55).
