Men's Cross Country Finishes 30th at NCAA Division III New England Championship

Gorham, Maine - November 16, 2013 - The Springfield college men’s cross country team competed in the Division III NCAA Regional Championships hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon. The Pride finished 30th in a field of 50 teams with 958 points overall.

Leading Springfield was Erich Voelker (Albany, N.Y.) with a time of 27:39.30, placing the senior 152nd overall. Next for the Pride was junior Joe Guerds (Albany, N.Y.) who finished 174th overall with a time of 28:08.25.

Sophomore Jacob Simons (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished third on the Pride and 197th overall with his time of 28:37.01, while senior Corey Hamel (Methuen, Mass.) placed 217th overall with a time of 28:52.61 in his last race in maroon and white.
