Women's Cross Country Has Solid Showing at Open New England's

Amanda DiPaolo Boston, Mass. - October 11, 2008 - On Saturday afternoon, the Springfield College women’s cross country team raced at the Open New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston. In a race comprised of student athletes from Division I, II, and III institutions, the Pride finished 24th out of 45 teams.

Leading the way for Springfield in race was Amanda DiPaolo, who crossed the finish line in 19:03, good enough for 68th overall. Behind DiPaolo was Lacey Cartier, who crossed the finish line in 111th place in 19:34.

Caitlyn Crosby was the next member of the squad to finish as she registered a time of 19:48. Kristyn Meade finished in 163rd as she ran the course in a time 20:08. Rounding out the Pride’s runners that scored in the race was Michelle Mirti, who ran a time of 20:23.

Springfield races next weekend at the UAlbany Invitational.
