Women's Cross Country Runs at New England Championships

Boston, Mass. - October 10, 2009 - The Springfield College women's cross country team competed in the New England Championships on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park in a race of the top teams from across the region.

The race was won by Division I-foe Brown University, which finished the event with 130 points.

As a team, the Pride finished 29th out of 49 teams with 785 points.

Leading the charge for the Pride was Amanda DiPaolo, who placed 54th of 327 runners with an overall time of 18:55. Teammate Lacey Cartier was the next fastest SC runner on the day for Springfield as she finished 105th in 19:30. SC's Michelle Mirti placed 178th in 20:17, while Caitlyn Crosby ran a time of 20:54 en route to a 221st-place finish. Alex Mustardo was the final scorer for Springfield as she placed 227th in 20:57.
